Thornhill boasts two convenience stores, three pubs, take-away options for fish and chips, Chinese food and pizza. The Discover Wildlife poll was launched in January this year. Sixty of the network’s conservationists, presenters, writers, and photographers were asked to share their favourite UK wildlife spaces. The nominations were then put to a public vote, resulting in a top 10 that was decided by a YouGov poll.

Scaur Glen took a very respectable third place, just missing out on the winner, the beautiful Causeway Coast in Ireland and the runner-up, Wimbledon Common in London.
