Galloway Country Fair returns
Drumlanrig Castle will once again host the incredible Galloway Country fair in 2023. In conjunction with Defender Jam, the fair will run on 12th and 13th of August.
The Galloway Country Fair is a great day out for the whole family. Even if you’re not that into the country sports way of life, the huge range of food and drink, local producers and trade stalls has something for everyone. With demonstrations over both days, the main ring is always bustling with activity and things to see. Think dog shows, falconry displays, gundog displays, vehichle demonstrations and even the ‘Lamb National’. There is so much to see and do and it is an absolute haven for dog lovers. You can also take your dog along with you for the day and get involved in some of the have-a-go shows and games.
There’s plenty for the kids to do too, with a huge, free, area dedicated to kids activities. There will be a climbing wall, trampolines, laser quest and assault course amongst plenty of other things.
Of course, no country fair is complete without field sports and there will be plenty for the fishing enthusiast and shooting fans alike. The fair runs ‘come and try’ sessions which are ideal for beginners but also great fun for the experts and experienced shots to test their skill on the clays.
We absolutely insist that you check out the bake-off tent while you’re there! Last year was a real treat and great fun to walk around and check out the competition.
